Department Overview

Mitchell County Communications receives and processes calls for assistance from citizens, workers, and visitors in Mitchell County whether routine or emergency. We assist in the protection of life and property.

The Communications Center

Our 5,000 square foot center opened in 2021. It serves Mitchell County citizens emergency response needs for fire, law enforcement, and rescue, providing coordinated communications along with support during times of disaster. The Center also serves as a  backup for neighboring counties to use if their 911 facilities have to be evacuated or their systems go down through our mutual aid agreements. It is located on the drive just below the current county courthouse and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
